Like every child among his people, Cesare was raised upon the story on how his people came to settle within the Etelari desert. The details of this tale changed from telling to telling, but these details had no impact upon the ending. What was important for this story was the idea that his people came from a different land--a land of many different clans and these clans fought amongst each other. Sometimes these conflicts were small scrabbles while others it was outright war. It was during one of these war Cesare's ancestors faced annihilation. This might have been their fate if a general of their army hadn't decided to quit the field of battle and gathered as many of her people as possible before marching out of their ancestral homeland. They traveled for a long while before coming upon the Etelari desert.

His people became dishearten at the sight of the desert. They thought that their deaths were surely upon them, but the general assured them that wasn't the case and this was the place they were going to make their new home. They were nature's clan, and they did not need grass to make grass grow. She traveled deeper into this desert and bid her people to follow. They still had concern that the desert was their doom, but decided to follow her just the same--figuring that she did not save them just to lead them to their deaths. They were wise to believe in her. For after traveling into the desert for many days they finally reached the place that their savior said was going to be their new home. It was here they watched her work her magic. She carved a rich oasis inside an inhabitable wasteland that wasn't only capable of supporting life but a thriving society as well.

It is said that her descendants continues to ensure that this oasis doesn't return to the wasteland it once had been and that Cesare is one of her descendants. There is debate among his people whether this is true or not. Some claim that their savior had not been the only one among the early settlers whom could make grass grow where there was none, but such details were forgotten in the sands of time. Those whom believed that their savior wasn't the only one whom had these abilities theorizes that these gifts were greatly cultivated among their people that those whom had them were raised to noble status and over time anyone whom possessed these abilities were said to have descended from her. Those whom the power seemed to be strongest within are said to be her direct descendant and are said to have divine rights to rule over their people. It is from this line that Cesare is said to have come from.

His birth was a cause of both great joy and great sorrow among their people. They had waited many years for their king and queen to have a child, and given their queen's condition they believed that her producing an heir would be impossible. The king's council encouraged him to take a second wife--one's whom wasn't as delicate as the queen, but he refused. He claimed that his queen was the only woman that he would share his bed with. He had lied, of course. He had many lovers, but he never claimed any children that didn't come from his lovers' wombs. Through, there was no doubt among Cesare people that he had loved her, because after she died bringing Cesare into the world he followed suit of a broken heart.

Cesare's people had the heir they had been hoping for, but he was far from a bouncy healthy baby boy. It seemed that he had inherited his mother's delicate condition. The council decided that it was best to raise the child away from any influence that might make his condition worse. This was easier said then done. Cesare was an extremely adventurous child whom refused to let his illness slow him down. It is said that it was this stubbornness that helped heal his condition over time. The council wanting to avoid a similar situation with Cesare from rising again decided to encourage him from an early age to take multiple wives. They told him that his responsibility to his people did not just include ensuring that their lands continued to support them but that he had many children to ensure that future generations were safe.

He took his first wife as soon as he hit his magical puberty and another less than a year after that. Slowly, over the course of time he begun to look at the influence his council had over him. He understood them wanting to ensure the continued existence of their people, but something told him that there was something else at play here. He begun to suspect that some of them were more concerned with controlling a god than the well-being of their people. He investigated this suspicion and found that it wasn't unfounded. There were indeed corruption within his council, and it was far worse than he believed. It appeared that every member of his council were corrupt in some manner--whether it was trying to manipulate him or abusing his people.

Cesare decided to eliminate this corruption by killing every last member of his council and building a new one. He believed that a good leader surrounded themselves with people whose advice they heeded, and if he couldn't trust those that were around him then he might not listen to their council, and their advice might be perfectly a reasonable one for the situation. His people are the ones that would suffer the most from this lack of trust of his council, and it was this fact that played the biggest role in his decision to kill them and replace them with those he felt he could trust. Years have passed since Cesare has decided to kill his entire council. He has taken several other wives and a few husbands during this time, but his mind keeps turning towards the lands that his people had originally came from. He can't help wondering what happened to those that remained behind. There was only one way to know for certain and that was to send someone to check it out. A group of adventurers were collected just for this purpose--a group that he had no intention of letting leave without him.

Knowing that his people would protest against him leaving, Cesare made sure that no one was aware of the fact that he left not even the group of adventurers that he had decided to join. He only told two people his plan--his first wife and oldest child. Both of which were capable of ensuring that the lands continue to support their people long after he is gone, and once his people realize he is gone they would know that they don't need him for their survival as much as they believed. He has traveled with this group for some time and they had finally entered their destination. Considering they have no idea whom he really is, those he traveled with have treated him as just one of the guys instead of like a god. It something he never knew he craved. He has no idea what he will find in his ancestral home lands but he finds the entire prospect exciting.
